Beware the Ides of March

According to my favorite font of information, the Ides of March was not actually a portent of doom in Roman times. It merely became one thanks to Shakespeare’s play, Julius Caesar, where the line was used as a warning.

Well it may not be a portent of doom, but this Ides of March is certainly gloomy. Here we are on March 15th and we are still getting snow. Several inches have fallen here today, and it’s only 9:07am. We got some snow last Sunday too.

This wouldn’t be a big deal, except that two weeks ago was actually pretty nice. The highs were high 50s to low 60s and it felt like spring was just around the corner. Now it’s definitely winter again. Cabin Fever is setting in quickly. I need a vacation.
