It is a great little app and is actually quite useful. One of the more useful features is that it will store an original (i.e. un-retouched) version of your photo as soo as you start editing it (cropping, adjusting color, rotating, etc.). This is great because it allows you preserve the original for those times when you decide, “hey, I want to try a cool effect on that photo.” When you encounter this situation, you can easily select the Revert to Original option form the menu and start over.</p>
<p>This feature is great and I use it a fair amount, but I wish it was a little more intelligent.

<p>One problem is that I may have created an album for a project and have cropped all the images in a particular way. But this alters the photo in the Library as well. If I use that same photo for another project and need to crop them differently I have to revert to the original and re-do it. Except now that has altered not only the version in the Library, but it has reverted the image in the other album too.</p>
<p>So your only option now is to use duplicates of the images. But, how to know when you start that you will need multiple copies of that photo? You could revert to the original and then duplicate it, but when you revert you aren’t able to undo that and so you lose the changes you made before. All of this leaves your hands kind of tied.</p>
<p>What I wish they would add is an option to add the original version to your album. This would automatically create a duplicate of the original (which they already have saved away for you) and then allows you to start over on that image. This leaves the other verison untouched. And while they’re at it, they could add an option to export the origianl versions as well. That way I could export my originals to a folder and then work on them in Photoshop or whatever and then re-import them into iPhoto. Just a suggestion Apple. What do you say?</p>
