iPod Shuffle

http://digitalsandbox.us/wp-content/ipodshuffle.jpg” alt=”” />I have been assimilated (like I was avoiding it). This weekend I acquired my first iPod, a 512 MB Shuffle. (Pictures of the unveiling are available) I love it. the thing is really small and light. And the device itself seems pretty sturdy. My flash drive seems flimsier than the iPod. And the lanyard is actually a really good length for me. I was concerned it would be too long and hang down to my bellybutton or something.

The lack of screen and ability to choose my song doesn’t really bother me. I knew that if I got a “real” iPod I would use it on random anyway. Anytime that I have wanted to listen to a particular song I am usually at my computer anyway. This is for riding the bus and walking around campus. Maybe a little light listening at work.

Just FYI, I think that the Shuffle (which I have named Squidward - I got the whole Spongebob naming thing going on my computer) knows me. The very first song it played, was from the Return of the Jedi soundtrack, followed by the Stone Temple Pilots. I really like that aspect of the Shuffle. You will get such a mix of music that you wouldn’t think to put together. The clash of styles is really interesting and fun.

The sound qulaity is actually really good. There are some decent bass notes and high notes and the overall sound is very good. The headphones can be a little painful after extended use, but I think I will use them just a while longer. I am embarrassed to admit that I want to show the white headpiones and get that status thing going for a bit. After it wears off I might switch to some more compfortable earbuds. Also the ability to use it as a flash drive is great too. I have 64 MB set aside for random transfers when needed.
