Along every career path there are those moments where you look up and realize that you aren’t doing what you would like to be doing. Well, that point happened to me about six months ago. But I couldn’t just up and leave, because I had taken the tuition reimbursement benefit and needed to fulfill my one year obligation. About the time I hit that mark I started looking in earnest and can now report that as of last week I work somewhere new.
Only time will tell if this new company (Tomax) will be the opportunity I hope it will, but at least for now I am working on something more in line with my career goals. I am one of their User Interface Designers and will be creating custom interfaces for their software for clients. It should be a good challenge and definitely a nice change of pace form the “work” I was doing before.

Many people would love to get a better job. And most of these same people have the proper training and skills to achieve this goal. Unfortunately, so many job hunters have very poor communication skills. They are unable to clearly tell potential employers about their job qualifications.
