Like millions of Americans, The Wife suffers from a debilitating disease that causes her to like listening to country music. We don’t really talk about it publically much as we want her to have as normal a life as possible. Like any good husband I try to support her through this challenge and that means that I too hear a lot of country music. I usually let her listen in the car as long as the windows are up so that no one will hear.

Normally I try to tune it out, but bits and pieces slip through my jammers every once in a while.Well, today I heard unequivocal proof that the Apocalypse is upon us. I don’t know what song it was or who was singing, but the phrase that slipped through my jammers was “I got a little junk in the trunk.” When country singers start including hip-hop phrases, we know that the end of the world (as we know it) cannot be far off.
