Project Info:
I was asked to create a company newsletter to be circulated to employees of the company. I was given free reign to determine every aspect of the newsletter, from design to content with a final approval by management.
I started off by determining what content I wanted to see in a newsletter by researching other company newsletters. Once I had an idea of the content and how that would be arranged I began work on the layout and design. I was told to make it look “professional” and so I envisioned a newsletter in full color with eye-catching graphics. This was not going to be one of those newsletters that you run off on the copy machine.
I even came up with the name of the newsletter. The Downhole Signal is a reference to the company’s business. I did not write the individual articles, but I did act as editor and had to do a lot of trimming and re-phrasing. In the end I oversaw the entire project from concept to final product. The publication was very well received and management was happy with the outcome.
